To ensure that your access to the gateway is an acceptable speed, it’s necessary to run a latency test. A good latency range is typically between 20-60ms, but anything up to 100ms is acceptable. To perform a latency test, open any internet browser on the machine that is hosting the on-premises gateway and run the Azure Speed Test 2.0.

Observe the average latency for your region. In this example, the latency is 83ms for West Central US.
